There are four scenarios that have a simple way to count the number of outcomes.  The fourth of these is when the outcomes are unordered, and sampling is with replacement.  This is the most complicated scenario to explain.  In this topic, one example illustrates the concepts.  The conclusion is a formula that follows from ta different perspective in considering counting procedures, but which provides a quick simple method for counting unordered outcomes when sampling is with replacement.
