In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, Baylor provides captions for all videos uploaded to Kaltura. English language captions are automatically generated and will represent moderate accuracy, but can sometimes struggle with proper nouns and technical terminology. Faculty are strongly advised to edit video captions to improve accuracy. For more information on editing captions, visit the Kaltura Knowledge Center.
Video captions should not be deleted under any circumstances. If caption files have been deleted from your videos, contact the Baylor Helpdesk for assistance in getting videos re-captioned.
Kaltura automatically generates multiple transcoded versions of each video, ensuring compatibility with a broad range of playback devices. These additional transcoded versions of a video are automatically removed from storage after two years from their last playback, retaining only the initially uploaded video in Kaltura's storage. Furthermore, if a video remains unplayed for a period of four years (with a minimum viewing duration of 10 seconds), the original video is also automatically deleted. It is recommended that videos expected to remain dormant for several years be archived in a location other than Kaltura for long-term storage.
