In this first lesson on interval estimation, we address three methods in the frequentist domain for finding interval estimators.  The first is the inversion of a test statistic, the second is using pivotal quantities, and the third is pivoting the cumulative distribution function of the sampling distribution of a statistic.  All of these strategies operationally are equivalent to inverting a test statistic.
