In this second video on Set Theory, Dr. Harvill presents a variety of topics. The video begins with the definition of an event, and includes a brief discussion of Venn diagrams. (For those who are not familiar with Venn diagrams, a supplemental video is included in this library that further illustrates them.). Following these definitions, the ideas of containment, set equality, union, intersection, and complement are defined and illustrated. The properties of commutativity, associativity, the distributive laws and DeMorgan's laws are presented. Concluding is the definitions for mutually exclusive, exhaustive, and partition and an example illustrating these last concepts.
