The Armstrong Browning Library proudly welcomed Dr. Lesa Scholl from the University of Adelaide in Australia as its Benefactor's Day lecturer for 2019. Dr. Scholl presented "Healthy Bodies, Healthy Souls: Nineteenth-Century Medicine, Religion, and Literature," which explored the writings of Christina Rossetti, Alice Meynell, and other contemporary writers who examined the ways in which concepts of physical and spiritual health impacted understandings of social justice in nineteenth-century Britain. Dr. Scholl is the 2019 Armstrong Browning Library Three-Month Research Fellow.
