There are four scenarios that have a simple way to count the number of outcomes.  The third of these is when the outcomes are unordered, and sampling is without replacement.  In this topic, two examples illustrate the concepts.  The conclusion is a formula that follows from the Fundamental Theorem of Counting and which provides a quick simple method for counting unordered outcomes when sampling is without replacement.
